Rainbow Six SIEGE – one top simulation game

I have played Rainbow Six SIEGE, a tactical FPS from Ubisoft’s Tom Clancy series. It has been launched on PS4 in December last year, and this title could easily be used to take SWAT and SAS exams because it’s an excellent simulation game.

Inspired from counter terrorist organization, real ones and situation involving hostages or a hijacked plane, the game has a central multiplayer aspect and a campaign mode that introduces you to the basic mechanics of the game. You can play with forces from SWAT, Spetznaz, Polizei or SAS, each with it own loadout, armor, bulletproof vests, equipment and weapons.

I almost feel unfair to call this game a FPS focused on multiplayer, because the tactic is the key here. Although we are not yet in the high tech universe from Modern Warfare, using new technologies such as cylinder-shaped robots that we sent to do scouting before storming an airplane or a bank occupied by terrorists.

We will be able to rappel from the building, we coordinate with the other forces of the team and certainly in this game there is no place for the single player hero, teamwork is vital. I need to highlight the fact that Siege does not have a story or an actual campaign, although somehow Ubisoft persuaded Angela Bassett from American Horror Story to be the voice and the face that guides you in tutorials - see best game tutorial.

Note that Siege is probably the shooter with the fewest shots in the history, each bullet is calculated at the tactical level. You put explosive charges, break the metallic walls, dynamite floors and put barbed wire on the stairs, trying to stop abusers to enter.

In this game there is no life that regenerates. If you play well SIEGE you may actually have a future in the military academy. It’s that simple! You do not play with hostages, we can not let one die, this is not Far Cry. Each fallen comrade means 20 03 40% less chances to finish you mission well and no matter how good you are, if you remain alone in front of all the enemies you can forget about the victory. As I said, this is a team game - check team game.

In conclusion, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Sic Siege is more than a game, than a multiplayer FPS title: it’s your entrance exam in the military, SWAT or SAS. This game is one of the best simulation games that exist on the gaming market.
